News: Prince, Justice, Simian Mobile Disco

If you failed to get tickets to Prince's month-long London residency, make plans to be in Los Angeles in June. It is highly anticipated that the diminutive 80s legend will announce a seven-week residency at the Roosevelt Hotel beginning June 15, where he will perform two-hour sets every Friday night with a different celebrity guest each week. The shows won't start until 11.30 and comprise a built-in aftershow wherein the star's private chef will serve after-hours food whilst Prince and friends entertain dinners as part of a jazz ensemble. The fun will finally wind up at 4am. Ticket information is expected this week.

Parisian techno hipsters, Justice, have announced their debut London live show on June 11. The gig will feature support from Ed Banger labelmates Busy P and DJ Mehdi and tickets are only available via a competition on their MySpace page - www.myspace.com/etjusticepourtous.

New hope has arrived for Internet radio stations in the US, whose future is threatened with unrealistically high royalty charges. SoundExchange, a non-profit organization responsible for collecting digital royalties may prove the saviour of net stations like Pandora. It has offered to extend the current royalty rates until 2010 and give Internet radio stations a chance to develop before seeking payments "based on the value of music in the marketplace."

Finally, in preparation for this summer's live dates from UK new-rave standard bearers, Simian Mobile Disco, here's a clip of them playing "Sleep Deprivation" at Brighton's Great Escape festival last weekend:
